4 days/week

General outdoor training program for athletes with a fitness base and who are looking to take their sport to the next level. Four days a week training split, with full gym access needed. One of the more popular programs, for those outdoor athletes who are active and fit, are able to commit to the gym four times per week, but are new to serious training specifically for their pursuit.

Outdoor Athlete Advanced Program

6 days/week

General outdoor training program for athletes with a strong strength training background. Six days a week training split, with full gym access needed. My personal favorite for any accomplished athlete looking forward to future endeavors and wanting to lay a strong base!

Day Hiker Program

2 days/week

For those new to hiking or fitness training, this two day a week program is a great introduction to improving your experience on the trail, with a focus on leg and core strength, stability, and endurance.

Weekend Backpacker Program

3 days/week

For hikers looking to step up their abilities up a notch, this three day a week program is designed to build on a strong base and add single leg stability, advanced core movements, and compound exercises.

Long Distance Trekker Program

4 days/week

For experienced hikers who are looking to stay sharp, strong, and injury free over longer, upcoming trips, this four day a week program picks up the pace with strength circuits, complex movements, and advanced stability work.

Expedition Program

5 days/week

For serious trekkers or thru hikers, this five day a week program will bulletproof your body and have you ready to take on weeks in the wilderness.

Mt Baker Program (Beginner)

2 days/week

For new mountaineers needing the basic fitness to ascend basic routes and mixed terrain, this two day a week program will focus on full body strength and avoiding injuries brought on by fatigue and lack of endurance.

Mount Elbrus Program (Intermediate)

3 days/week

For those looking to improve their fitness and stability while not in the mountains, this three day a week program adds grip training, calf and anterior tibialis strength endurance, and extra mobility drills to ensure successful summits.

Denali Program (Advanced)

4 days/week

For mountaineers taking on large projects and needing the next level of strength endurance for their expeditions. This four day a week program builds on the intermediate program and adds more mulitiplanar movements for more difficult maneuvers and pitches.

Annapurna Program (Intensive)

6 days/week

Recommended only for the most serious of athletes, this is the most intensive program in Backcountry Fitness, and is designed for those spending weeks at a time at altitude in intense, exhausting situations. A six day a week program that dives deep into stability, advanced compound movements, core endurance, and more.
